Call for Abstracts
The Scientific Committee invites participants to submit abstracts for consideration for presentation at the 80th LMHI World Congress. Accepted abstracts may be presented in oral or poster format, as determined by the committee.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- All abstracts must be submitted through the online submission portal by the submission deadline January 15, 2027, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
- Abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Each individual may submit a maximum of two (2) abstracts.
- Abstracts must contain original work that has not previously been published or presented at another national or international meeting.
- Abstract title must be written in Title Case, contain no abbreviations, and be no more than 20 words.
- Abstract must not exceed 350 words, excluding the required section headings.
- Abstract must follow the structure and formatting requirements outlined below:
- Introduction/Background – context and justification of the study
- Objectives – main purpose of the research
- Methodology – Study design, population, criteria, and methods used
- Results – Most relevant findings, including specific data
- Conclusions – Interpretation and clinical or scientific relevance
- Keywords – Three (3) to six (6) keywords, preferably selected from Medical Subject Headings (MeSH)
- Standard abbreviations and acronyms may be used without prior definition; all non-standard terms must be defined where first used in the text.
- Do not include tables, figures, or references in the abstract or upload them separately as supporting documents.
- A biography of no more than 100 words must be provided for the presenting author during submission.
- Supporting documents may be uploaded in PDF and Word.
- All authors must be aware of and approve the content of the submission before it is submitted.
- Please review your submission carefully before submitting it. You may edit your submission through the portal until the submission deadline.
- Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.
- Submissions may be screened for plagiarism.
- The use of AI-assisted tools is permitted provided that the submitted work remains the author’s original work. Author must disclose whether AI-assisted tools were used and clearly describe how and to what extent they were used.
- The Scientific Committee will review all submissions and determine their acceptance and final presentation format (oral or poster), with consideration given to the submitter’s preference. The committee’s decision is final.
- Presenters of accepted submissions must register and pay the applicable Congress registration fee by the early registration deadline to be included in the Congress publications and scheduled for presentation.
- Accepted submissions may be included in the online abstract publication, mobile app, and/or printed abstract book.
- Presenters may be required to upload presentation slides, a poster PDF, a full paper, or other applicable materials after acceptance.
- Presenters will be required to include a disclosure slide in their presentation.
- Submission indicates acceptance of and compliance with these guidelines.
